Paolo Nevi was born in Narni in 1997. He trained at the Liceo Musicale in Terni before continuing his studies at the Conservatory of Parma under Nemi Bertagni, graduating with top honors in Lyric Singing in 2019, the same year he joined the Accademia del Teatro alla Scala. He also attended the Accademia Rossiniana of the Rossini Opera Festival. In 2019 he received the Pavarotti Foundation Prize and the Young Male Talent Prize at the Etta and Paolo Limiti Competition in Milan, as well as the Best Under 25 Award at the CLIP International Opera Competition in Portofino. He has taken part in masterclasses with Marcelo Álvarez, Luca Salsi, Alfonso Antoniozzi, Francesco Meli, Pietro Spagnoli, and Gregory Kunde.

His roles include Nemorino in L'elisir d'amore at the Teatro Olimpico in Vicenza, Don Ramiro in La Cenerentola at the Teatro alla Scala, Count Almaviva in Il barbiere di Siviglia at the Festival Ticino in Musica and the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa, and Tamino in Die Zauberflöte and Cavalier Belfiore in Il viaggio a Reims at the Rossini Opera Festival. At the Teatro alla Scala he has also performed Paolino in Il matrimonio segreto, Edmondo in Manon Lescaut, Zio Vezinet in Il cappello di paglia di Firenze, Benvolio in Roméo et Juliette, Don Curzio in Le nozze di Figaro, and the Abbé in Andrea Chénier.

More recently, he has performed Nemorino and Beppe in Pagliacci at the Wexford Festival, a gala concert with the Accademia del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino in Providence, and made his debut in the world premiere of Opera Amore (dramaturgy by Alberto Mattioli, staging by Francesco Micheli, music by Federico Gon), produced by the Accademia del Maggio in collaboration with the Italian Ministry of Culture. He also debuted the role of Dorvil in La scala di seta at the Teatro Coccia in Novara, returned to the Rossini Opera Festival as Eacide in Zelmira, made his debut at the Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari with Haydn's Missa in tempore belli, once again performed the Count in Il barbiere di Siviglia with the baroque ensemble Stella Matutina, debuted the role of Federico Frengel in Stiffelio in Piacenza, Modena, and Reggio Emilia, performed Ernesto in Don Pasquale at the Opéra de Nice, and in June 2026 sang the Cavalier Belfiore in Il viaggio a Reims again, in a semi-staged production, at the Culturama Festival in Sofia, Bulgaria.

His upcoming engagements include his debut as Macduff in Verdi's Macbeth at the Teatro Comunale in Modena, the Teatro Municipale in Reggio Emilia, and the Teatro Comunale in Ferrara, and his return as the Conte Almaviva in Il barbiere di Siviglia at the Teatro Comunale in Ferrara.
